My brief thoughts on the game
To paraphrase Ray Rice, “there are 60 minutes in a football game, not 20 seconds.”
Despite all the hilarious “Cundiff is Einhorn/Finkle” jokes, despite how heartbreaking it is to lose that way, the man helped us win a hell of a lot more games than he helped us lose. Besides, his mistake deprived us of a chance to win the game—not a guarantee to do so.
We played so well yesterday. How many teams can say they made it (and won at least once!) to the playoffs four years in a row, let alone with a rookie QB and head coach? Love you Flacco, love you Harbaugh, love you Pitta, love you Dickson, love you Rice. Love to all the defenders, love even to the offensive line (or lack thereof). Evans, I’m lukewarm about you after that drop and this season—but I could come around. Cundiff—ah, you need to step your game up next year, but if we keep you, I think you could be back to the 2010-2011 season form, no problem.
Ed Reed—if you’re leaving us this year, know that you were the best safety to play this game.
Ray Lewis—you’re still in playing shape to get another ring. I have faith in you.
I bleed purple. I have to mourn for the next two weeks, but then I’ll be rooting for the Giants in my lucky purple Ravens sweatshirt.
