Going through the racism tag on tumblr.

So depressing.  Even the posts I agree with.

Racism is inextricable from power.

Racism is not the hate one man feels toward another man.

Racism is the systemic conditioning that we are all subjected to, that causes us to feel this hate.  That causes us to pretend, or genuinely not understand, that we are not from birth taught that there is a hierarchy of man based on arbitrary factors.

Humans are not born believing other humans are better or worse than they are.  That is learned.  That is racism.

Difference should be valued.  Difference should be discussed.  Difference should not be put on a scale of 1-10.  All difference is equal.

I am so over-privileged it disgusts me.  My skin color is my birthright.  I choose to use it to spread the message of love, because I live in a world where my words matter more than others’.  I aim to change that.
